Suffolk Libraries is launching a new campaign to highlight the vast array of activities and services they offer to more users.

The ‘What Happens in the Library’ initiative aims to attract first-timers and spark curiosity in regular users to discover more than just the books their county’s libraries can offer.

With a slate of creative workshops for young people, vibrant storytimes for toddlers, social meet-ups for adults and even complimentary fitness sessions, Suffolk Libraries are a hub of activity and services.

“We’re launching this campaign because we want to reach even more people.

“Suffolk residents are passionate about our libraries and we want to use the power of word of mouth to get our message out to the widest possible audience.

“The campaign is also designed to prompt our regular visitors to try something new.

“What we offer is constantly evolving and we’re rightly proud of what we do so it’s all about creating a buzz and getting more people to check out what happens in libraries.”

A young person who enjoyed the Blank Page Easter workshops with her friends said: “I don’t think any of us would know each other if it wasn’t for the library.”

In addition to its physical services, Suffolk Libraries also boasts an extensive collection of free online resources such as eBooks, music, film streaming and online newspapers.

However, the ‘What Happens in the Library’ campaign is about more than highlighting the library’s services.

The campaign has received backing from recent research revealing an impressive 86 Net Promoter Score and a satisfaction rate of 93pc from nearly 6,000 consulted individuals.

The study also showed that many customers remain unaware of the full range of library services, a gap this campaign hopes to bridge.
