A hospital’s children’s department in Ipswich has undergone a multi-million-pound transformation.

The department at Ipswich Hospital has been refurbished and extended, with the project funded by East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) and Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity’s Children’s Appeal.

The redevelopment has created a new ward, additional clinic spaces, a school room, a children’s assessment unit, an outdoor play area, and themed receptions and waiting areas.

Additional features now include new treatment rooms, a high-dependency bay, and a calming sanctuary room for patients with mental health difficulties.
